Now Hiring Canada is a massive job portal aimed at those looking for a Canadian job. As many job sites, now-hiring.ca is comprised of two main sections:
- candidates section
- employers section.
The job seeker has the possibility to search jobs by province, by city, by industry, by company and of course by keywords (or combinations of several search types).
We were impressed by the job search capabilities of this site and of course by the very varied range of jobs advertised.
However, this is not yet another regular job site, as there is much more to the concept of now-hiring.ca : employers are offered a unique, custom made 'Now Hiring Go To Now-Hiring.ca' sign (it can be placed in the employer's window, or lobby) directing interested candidates to the now-hiring.ca website. Once on the website, they'll find the employer's information along with available job openings.
The purpose is to create a network of such signs throughout Canada, providing employers and recruiters with a cost effective solution. The program offers a minimum of two months exposure, with unlimited words ads that can include graphics, logo, links to email and/or website addresses.
We believe this is a very creative and interesting concept: if you're facing difficulties recruiting, why not giving it a try? Now Hiring Canada is located in Calgary, Alberta, and can be reached via email, phone or fax (all details available on their site).
Overall grade: 4/5 (we would have given a 5 if it wasn't for the slow-loading site).
