Google has recently announced its first European coding contest, Code Jam Europe 2006. This comes after series of similar events in the US, China and India, with great feeedback and response rates from top coders.
Although the money prizes are well worth the effort, most participants are drawn into the contest by the hope of being recruited to work for Google in one of their European engineering centers in Zurich, Dublin, London or Trondheim.
